The UK government made new changes which became effective from November 2, 2018, for migrants who want to stay or remain in the UK permanently. These changes are introduced under the Visa and Citizenship Application Service. In the coming months, the higher number of paper applications forms will be withdrawn. Consequently, most applicants based in the UK will have to go to a UKVCAS center to book an online appointment. Work had begun that same last year to open up to 57 new UKVCAS centers. The plan was to have all the centers in the different locations opened by early January. The new process makes provision for applicants to be able to purchase services to suit their needs and circumstances, such as convenience or speed. They will be able to do this while retaining their passports as well as all other evidence to back up their application while it is being processed. This option will save them time as the previous procedure required that they submitted their documents separately.
