According to the UK Office of National Statistics, ONS for short, skilled professionals from India got the majority of work visas issued by the UK government in the past few months.
According to the official report released by ONS on Thursday, it was glaring that the number of applicants from EU member-states seeking entry into the UK had declined as a result of Brexit. But then, the migrant's numbers from non-EU member states like India have been on the rise. There were additional 2,266 Tier 2 visa issues to skilled professionals from India. This constituted 55% of visas given out in this category, making Indians the majority beneficiaries of the visa program. The Tier 2 visa is mostly used by IT Companies in India that are working on UK projects, to shuffle their workers.
Tier 2 Visas take up over half of all UK work visas, and the number of people applying for the visa increased by 15% compared to its statistics last year.
