The Indian Government has planned to introduce e-visas for the medical tourists who frequently come to India for prolonged visas. The online application system will be extended to the citizens of over 150 countries. The foreign nationals must send the scanned copies of the medical prescriptions for treatment in India to the responsive online application management system.
The Travelers using e-visas to enter India increased many folds and in the month of April 2016, it is 266 percent more than the same month in the previous year.
The UK tourists remain on the top chart in availing the e-tourist visa facility. The United States and Russia follow the UK in availing the e-tourist visa service.
August saw a growth of around 197% of international tourists that arrived in India on e-Tourist Visas, this year.
