The Hyderabad Police have arrested a taxi driver in Santosh Nagar for duping an unemployed youth on the pretext of offering jobs by collecting Rs 6.3 lakhs. The driver was identified as Md Shakeel Ahmed, age 30, a cab driver from Kalandar Nagar in Santosh Nagar.
The culprit assured jobs in the Gulf to around 24 job aspirants and collected money from them. Syed Raoof of Karwan lodged an official complaint against him of cheating, and the Police arrested him at Phisalbanda in Santosh Nagar.
The Police seized 17 Indian passports of the aspirants and a Mahindra Logan car from him. Shakeel promised to secure jobs in the Gulf to semi-literate people and managed to collect Rs. 50,000 from 24 victims. He also promised employment visas to them.
