High Number of Indian Students Choosing AI Programs

Even a hermit would know that artificial intelligence is the future of technology. And like always, Indians have to be the first ones to experiment with it. A growing number of Indian students are going for artificial intelligence programs across the European Union and the United States. The niche is focused on creating machines that live and work like humans. Indian students applying for AI Masters tripled in 2017 compared to 2016. According to  Economic Times, international officials from the University of Georgia, University of Amsterdam, University of Edinburgh, Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Radboud University, KU Leuven, and Carnegie Mellon reported an influx of Indian students applying for masters in artificial intelligence.

Since it is a developing field, artificial intelligence is challenged by lack of workers and researchers who can take the work further. At the same time, there’s a high demand for specialists. All across the globe, students applying for masters in artificial intelligence increased by 30 percent in 2017 compared to those who applied for an MBA. Around 20 to 30 percent more Indian students are applying for  AI PG courses at foreign universities.

Growing trend

According to industry experts, the growing trend can be contributed to skilled professionals becoming more aware of what the future holds and the technology. They are also now aware of the fact that if you want to stay employable, you need expertise in a niche field. Artificial intelligence is the future because it assists in making data, it plays with numbers. It can also make business decisions without getting bias. These are some of the skills the world needs in the future. The University of Amsterdam reported that AI Masters students from India have tripled in 2017 compared to 2017.

The University of Sheffield saw a 55 percent in Indian students and Belgium KU Leuven University saw a 44 percent increase compared to the previous year.
