In a draw held on Thursday, 21 March, a total of 150 invitations were issued to immigration candidates by Prince Edward Island (PEI). PEI holds draw every month for Expression of Interests (EOI) received from immigration candidates for its nominee program.
As part of the 11 provinces and territories in Canada that partake in the country’s Provincial Nomination Program (PNP), PEI gets to nominate an allocated number of candidates for permanent residence in Canada every year.
In the March 21 draw, via Labour Impact, Business Impact and Express Entry immigration categories, PEI invited 150 candidates hence bringing the total number of invitations issued to immigration candidates through PEI PNP this year to 440.
Candidates in the Express Entry and Labour Impact received 131 of the 150 invitations. No further breakdown was provided for these two categories by the province. The invited candidates are to apply to the provincial nomination program of PEI in order to get Canadian permanent residence.
The remaining 19 invitations go to Business impact immigration candidates. These entrepreneur candidates can now submit an application for PEI PNP in order to get a letter of support for a temporary work permit.
Prince Edward Island’s Business Impact immigration category is designed for eligible foreign entrepreneurs who own a business or have qualified management experience and are willing to invest in and run a business in the province.
Express Entry and Labour Impact invitations
The Express Entry and Labour Impact are two different categories. PEI Express Entry, like other provinces, is linked to the federal Express Entry system. The labor impact, on the other hand, is not aligned with the federal Express Entry system.
