Tuesday's generous pre-election budget seems to hold great promise as a lot of migrant communities are looking forward to enjoying its benefits. The Australian government has budgeted 64.2 million USD which will serve as a measure to tone down the social cohesion which prevents immigrants from settling down in their communities. The 64.2 million will be used to fund local sport, grants, community languages, and national community hubs to foster mutual understanding and the celebration of the diversity of the different cultures and peoples in Australia. The establishment of the Community Languages Multicultural Grants Program will cost more than 12 million dollars in a 3-year span. This program will assist community language schools in helping the young people in Australia to learn their language, heritage, and culture. In four years also, another $22.6 million will be invested into the establishment of the national youth hubs program as well as the growth of the national community hubs program. Expanding the reach of these community and youth hubs will enable youths to access these services and learning facilities with all other support. This, no doubt will help them understand the Australian culture and will, in turn, increase their employability.
