No Job offer Requirement for Express Entry invitation

Another fascinating fact published by the 2018 Express Entry year-end report is that only 10 percent of the applicants who obtained Invitations to Apply for Canada PR had an employment offer from an employer in Canada.

Though an employment offer from an employer in Canada is not a pre-requirement to appeal to Federal Express Entry, the applicants who have an employment offer receive additional Comprehensive Ranking System (C.R.S.) score points. If the applicant has a regular employment offer, he/she is qualified to claim an extra 50 C.R.S. points. If the employment offer is for a managerial position, applicants can claim 200 extra points.

However, solely 10 percent of the Federal Express Entry applicants who obtained I.T.A.s in 2018 had an employment offer. While a sum of 89800 candidates was announced I.T.A.s through Canadian Express Entry in 2018, the number of those who hold an employment offer was 9308.
